Rae Fehr Photography captured this stunning intimate DIY British Columbia wedding at Sikanni River in a way that will make your heart explode! Cat and Zach are one sweet couple who definitely love some adventure. This wedding includes lots of pretty DIY details and takes place in a beautiful remote area.
Rae Fehr shares…Ten minutes after getting engaged in Colorado, they knew they wanted to get married at the Sikanni. They chatted with Zach’s parents and shared the great news and the decision to get married up north…way north. It is a very remote section of British Columbia in the Canadian Rockies with over 1500 square miles of unspoiled wilderness along the Sikanni River. It is a beautiful wildlife vacation spot with fishing and hunting guides and other great recreational activities. His parents and family were very excited as this is their home and where Zach grew up. From there the planning ensued. Event space was limited but with the never ending views, it was perfect for them as they wanted to keep it intimate.
Family from Texas, Michigan and Oklahoma as well as friends from California, Florida and Canada all traveled and gathered together for the week leading up to the wedding. Quad rides, helicopter tours, horseback adventures, campfires, wine and a ton of laughs consumed the week, it was incredible and so full of love, with things like the untouched miles of nature and wildlife, no wifi, and shared tents and lodges, the focus was truly on the couple and their events, being together and all of the adventures of the entire week. The night of the wedding was perfection with a short and sweet ceremony, family visits and a reception that consisted of dancing until the sun came up.
