We love, love, love this family farm engagement session. We guarantee you will love this session, it is full of take-your-breath-away photos captured by Candy Koated Photography & Design Studio. Jamie and Dustin decided to use his family farm as a stunning backdrop for their pictures and what a fabulous idea that was. Jamie and Dustin picnicked, played with some horses and celebrated his parents 25th wedding anniversary. How perfect does this e-session sound?
From Candy Koated Photography & Design Studio…“Jamie asked me back in early Spring if I could come out to their family farm to take engagement photos of her and Dustin, as it was also his parent’s 25th Wedding anniversary party and it would be the perfect timing to take pictures. I thought that was such a perfect idea – capturing the beginning of their love story while also celebrating lasting love of his mom and dad.
It was a cold and rainy August day – we should have known better than to plan on nice weather while rounding out the end of summer… but as it turned out, the rain turned to mist, and then to grey sky which made for the most dramatic and romantic backdrop. They had so many fun spots to explore on the acreage, all of which had to be accessed by the farm quad. Jamie was such a good sport, dusted off her cute little cowboy boots and hopped into the back of the quad to allow me to sit in the front with my gear. We both giggled along as Dustin drove us gently past the gorgeous horses and impressive family garden, to a beautiful spot along the water reserve. I set up a sweet little morning picnic with fresh Coffee and Butter Tarts, they sat there as if no one was watching, laughing and talking about their weekend ahead of them. I got a little snap happy as we went from spot to spot – each more impressive than the last. We took photos in the tall trees, stopped to pet the horses, drove past the treehouse that Dustin built as a kid, took a brief walk among the wheat fields and ended the session in front of the massive brick fire-pit his Dad built for his Mom when they first moved to this plot of land just outside of Sylvan Lake. I loved spending the day with these two and getting to see just how important family was to them. Experiences like this make me feel so very honoured and privileged that couples let me into their lives to capture their love.”
